What are you thankful for?

Just remember that every single person on the planet can find something in their lives that is beautiful and precious...

I can remember being driven at break neck speed through the streets of Mumbai in this rickety, rusty rickshaw with the driver blaring his horn every few seconds and seeing out of the corner of my eye this beautiful woman sitting in the dirt breastfeeding her baby. The expression of deep joy on her face was truly inspirational and made me realise that whatever life throws at us there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for!

Top 5 Tips for creating a Gratitude Attitude!

Tip 1:

Keep a daily journal (it doesn't have to be fancy) of things you are grateful/thankful for. This works really well if you can do it first thing in the morning, or just before you go to bed.

Tip 2:

Make it a daily practice to give a genuine compliment to at least one person, whether it is your partner, friend, family member, work colleague or even random stranger every day. Recent research has shown that this simple act not only has a positive effect on the receiver but the giver too.

Tip 3:

Look in the mirror, perhaps when you are next brushing your teeth, and think about something you have done well recently or something you genuinely like about yourself.

Tip 4:

Always find a positive in a negative! Many people ask me how I became a therapist/energy worker and teacher and I tell them truthfully that my journey began when my father was diagnosed with cancer. His last year as I nursed him in the physical helped motivate me to go and study about the body and learn new skills that I now use every single day... I am so grateful to have experienced this journey with him as I would not be the person I am today without it

Tip 5:

Take a note of the world around you from a point of gratitude. If its been raining all day and the sun finally comes out, be grateful! When you have been struggling to get that presentation off the ground and you finally have that aha moment, be grateful! When someone opens the door for you as you have your hands full of shopping, be grateful! When a stranger on the tube gives you a genuine smile, be grateful! When your teenage kids go and lay the table for dinner, be grateful! I could go on and on, but I think you get my meaning.

Well, I hope you have found these simple tips useful and will start implementing them into your life straight away. Remember we are creators! What we think we create so when we think positively we attract positive situations in to our lives and we feel more positive about life in general.
